Pam Quirk Brain Health and Biomarker Laboratory
In 2022 Ted and Maria Quirk established an endowment to create the Pam Quirk Brain Health and Biomarker Laboratory within the Department of Brain Health. This gift was made in memory of Ted’s sister, Pam, who tragically succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease. In her life, Pam, worked as a nurse in New York, a lingerie-store owner in Las Vegas, and a realtor in Ithaca, but her passion was always helping others. The Pam Quirk laboratory serves as a biobank and biomarker discovery resource for our research and numerous clinical collaborators to store, process and share human patient specimens.
“My sister was the most generous person I’ve ever know, and I wanted to do something meaningful in her memory. UNLV’s Brain Health Team are global leaders in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease, and we are excited to support their critical work”

Maj. Gen. Nathan James Lindsay
The Nathan J. Lindsay Fellowship will be awarded each year to a PhD candidate in the UNLV Department of Brain Health who is conducting research on Alzheimer's Disease. The award will allow the recipient to continue their work year-round, because funding for graduate students is often limited in the summer. In addition to directly accelerating what we know about Alzheimer's Disease through their research, the fellowship will also support the development of future leaders in the brain health field.
